....I use cliff shot blocks as needed. They are fat free. I feel like i burn 'em off quick. Most bars/gels/robo-food have sugar in some form as 1st or 2nd ingedient. Sugar helps trigger the body into storing fat. Just avoid sugar at all costs between rides to mitigate this effect.

You want energy or not? If the calorie content is low it's not going to make a different anyway whether you take it or not.
If you want to loose weight, don't eat gu and energy bars.
