I take mine to Chain Reaction on Dundas in the west end. But only b/c I bought it there. They do really good work. A little pretentious, but I don't mind that in a shop that does good work. Shows they care a bit about the bikes.
Never heard of Hello Velo. I know Dukes is pretty good. I've also had success with Urbane. But more for basic stuff on the commuter.
Just stay away from Cycle Motive on Queen and Bathurst. Numerous bad experiences.

Yes this is all totally unsolicited advice ;)

They're in the east end.A couple guys I know race for them. They support racing, so that's a plus. New shop, but apparently good. Let us know how it works out.

PS: someone mentioned Chain Reaction. It's a solid store. They are good guys, and absolutely no attitude. They also have a solid team of riders at the races.

Just got my bike back from Hello Velo. Fantastic!!

Great service, they were super quick and were well under what I was expecting to pay. Definitely will be going back, figure they'll become my local now.

Its a small shop but in a cool old factory building. They definitely know their stuff and unlike a lot of stores in T.O., they know how to service high end bikes.

Now off for a ride on my finely tuned bicyclette!

I live close to Hello Velo but have not been in yet. My wife has and she ended up getting me a full Retule fit.

I'm going to go in and talk to Paul (who does Retule) and see if it will work well for me. If it doesn't, I will go to Heath and spend the dough another way at Hello Velo.

Regardless, my wife said that the shop is unlike others she has been in. It caters to high end custom bikes. I'm looking forward to visiting them!

i vote for VELO......although, i'm pretty sure Heath would be happy to sell you something that doesn't fit you worth a dam.....that place cares about one $$ thing only

I went for my fit at Hello Velo and couldn't be happier. Retule is just a very fast and accurate way to take all the measurements dynamically. Paul knew what he was doing. My bike came in within threshold, and I had no issues prior to the fit. We could have left it as I had it.

But Paul pushed saddle height and did a slight bar rotation. It was a lot of money for that, that's forsure, but Ive done my homework over the years and thought my saddle was as high as I could properly go. It wasn't and the difference on the road is noticeable.

Great guys there. Great fitter. I've found my new shop.

Rides

Has anyone gone on any of the rides with this club? They have something called a "4F intermediate" ride on MWF from 5:30am-7:15 which would work perfectly for me schedule wise, but I don't know what the pace/distance etc are. I have emailed someone to find out but have not yet received a reply. So if anyone rides with them please do post. Thanks,

Katie
