I'm looking to try a post work out shake suggested in the training bible.

Can you guys help me select a good powder (that will also taste good in this). Also, need some glucose like Carb pro.

Shake was is something simple,

fruit juice
banana
protein
glucose

Where do you guys order the products you use?

Thanks!

Carnation instant breakfast powder, in milk. Find it in the cereal / breakfast bar aisle at the store.

Or on hot days, a big glass of half OJ and half V-8.

The idea of a "recovery drink" is sold out of proportion to the research, atmho. People talk about the "magic" 30 minute window with overblown reverence.

I like immerle's suggestion.

As for chocolate milk, sure it works for Michael Phelps get through the Olympics, with multiple daily cycles of warmup/race/cooldown. But it's also quite calorically dense, and most of us don't need all those excess calories.

yeah +1 what pretender said. for average joes including most amateur racers, just a regular diet is plenty. maybe a snack after a big ride.

the only time I really worry about "recovery" is when I'm racing or training long/hard days back to back. By that I mean 100 followed by 80.
