Help me pick some oakley lenses

I'm going to order a pair of Jawbones and can't decide on the lenses. The chart they have on their website isn't really helping me... the jawbones come with two sets of lenses, so I'd like to pick two for the summer.

I live in New Mexico, so I'm thinking the Black Iridium ones will be the best choice for bright sunny days. I'd like another pair for evenings and slightly cloudy days (still means a lot of sun around here). I'm thinking maybe Fire Iridium, VR28 Blue, or Light Positive Red.

I'm going to pick up a pair of yellow ones in the fall for when it gets cloudy so lower light conditions aren't as much of an issue right now.

Any tips or comments?

I take it most people are getting the vented lenses for cycling?

I am a big fan of their Polarized lenses. Just picked up a pair of Polarized Scalpels at ToC. I also use the the black and blue iridium lenses. I definitely like their yellow and clear lenses for low light and night riding.
I prefer the VR28 Black Iridium for sunny conditions on the bikes. Great contrast. I don't like the Polarized myself except for driving. I use Titanium Iridium Polarized for that. In darker conditions on the bikes I use Titanium Clear. I have the VR28 and Clear lenses in carbon fiber Half Jacket frames and the Ti Ir ones in a gloss black frame. Gotta have the frames match the bike frames, lol. :)
I have the Fire Iridium lenses and persimmon for my jawbones, I like the fire for sunny days and the persimmon work great into the early evening or on darker overcast days.
Gold iridium. I've had the other iridium lenses, and the gold ones are PERFECT for everything but night riding. The black iridium isn't anything like the gold. Don't mess with polarized if you have a computer/HR monitor/Power meter on your bike. You won't be able to read it.

Agreed on the gold iridium, except I can't find them for the jawbone. Did I miss something?

I have gold iridium on my Racing Jackets and love the lens!

+1 gold Iridium.
I find that polarised lenses tire my eyes especially in overcast/variable conditions. the gold iridium is very comfortable and gives good contrast.
Gold Iridium is not available for the Jawbone...

There's a list of options here:

I like the Fire Iridium lenses too.

I had polarized and almost died because of it. For me it makes the darker pavement look wet and wavy. I went off the road on to the gravel shoulder on a descending corner and almost went down in heavy traffic.

I got the transition lens for my red Jawbones but a little dissappointed only because they dont get light enough for me when I need them for late afternoon rides. Dont get me wrong they are nice lens specially on sunny days. To fix this issue I purchased some persimmons and they are perfect for those late afternoon cloudy day rides. I am actually thinking of getting some Iridium red can anyone tell me if I should get polarized?? Is this critical to cyling or it does not matter?

The Jawbones are Awesome they fit me well

I HATE polarized lenses for cycling. They will make your computer and HR monitor impossible to read and you won't be able to accurately determine pavement conditions (wet vs. dry, etc.) As stated above by others, avoid polarized like the plague.....unless you're fishing.

Thanks El Good Looking

I didnt even think about that good point.

Thanks alot

Yeah, from what I keep reading polarized is a waste of money for cycling. Nice looking glasses MP!
+1 for what El Guapo says for polarized. I also use my Oakleys, half jackets, for XC skiing and don't like the polarized because it can make it difficult to see ice...
That being said, I did just get some of Oakleys new fishing specific shallow blue lens for fly fishing. WOW!

Cheers,
Mike
