Would any one know if the Salsa chainrings will fit on a Shimano crankset
5 bolt pattern? If not, is there a smaller 5 bolt ring than a 30t that would fit?
I can't seem to find one and need a smaller ring because I converted to a triple and
the 30t inner ring is too close to the chainstay. It's supposed to be a triple bb so I'm assuming it's the frame and not the bb, yes?/no? any info would help.
I'm ready to give up on this old piece of !(@#$%^&

See the attached link, that part about how to check chainline applies. Seems like there's a question almost every day where someone has not checked the chainline. A search should bring up many more threads. If your middle ring is less than 46mm from center, a BB spacer may be needed.

Also be absolutely sure you have a 118mm spindle.
