Has anyone tried to fabricate a homemade carbon bottle cage? It seems to me if you can get your hands on some resin-impregnated sheets of carbon fiber, it shouldn't be too hard to make. Could you just wrap your cut-out design around a 'mold' that is the same diameter as a water bottle, then cure in the oven? I'd imagine you can drill the holes for the mounting bolts later on. Is it really tough to cut through the carbon sheets? I understand those aramid fibers are plenty tough, but couldn't you do it with a jigsaw?
