I have an older pair of Look PP 396 pedals that are in great shape (rarely used) that I just put on my racing road bike. I've lost the manual and it seems as though Look (via their website) doesn't provide a manual.

My problem is that I seem to be able to unclip from them rather easily, like when bunny hopping or sprinting hard (if you knew me, you'd be laughing at that last statement....I cannot for the life of me sprint). Any hoo, do I simply turn the hex screw on the face-plate to tighten the tension? If so, which way? Towards the "-" or "+"? If not, does the red dial on the front of the pedal do it? Or is that simply the float?

A little help would be appreciated.
