I jst wondering if anyone has ridden the Mondo S-Works tire on wet roads and how did it perform. I have a race coming up on Sat and they have 60% chance of rain so I want to be prepared if its raining out.
I've been riding the Mondo Pros lately in lots of rain... like rain every day for two months... flowing water and mud, etc. Nothing weird has happened... but then I'm not trying to see how fast I can go around turns either.
In my experience, rain isn't a big problem if a) you stay away from paint lines... especially when cornering, and b) it has rained recently enough to wash away the oil that accumulates. If it hasn't, then oil slicks are a real hazard and very tough to avoid. It is also a good idea to run 100psi or even less if you are light.
