Just took possession of a new carbon fiber frame. It came with each tube wrapped in foam secured by tape. When removing the chain stay foam I lifted the clear frame protector tape. Has anyone had any success re-gluing frame protection tape? And if so, what glue did you use?

Thanks in advance.

I'd just get new stuff given that it was clear and anything you used would show through.
carpet tape would be the best bet, but it is white generally.

edit...I meant carpet tape to glue it back on...

SS,

Try some 3M "clear bra" that they use for the front ends and mirrors of cars. You can usually purchase it anyhwere that does window tinting or detailing. It's not as thick as the factory chain stay protector but it works well. I put it on the forks, downtube, toptube, and anywhere that scratching may be a issue. It's really easy to use and apply. I must warn you though, it's somewhat pricey but well worth the protection.
