Maybe someone can help. I recently replaced my old 7-seep hub with 8-speed, shimano FH-1056, claimed to be a 105 part. It fits perfectly. The only thing I have notice is that it doesn't ratchet and seems to freespin a lot slower than my old one. Does anyone know if it's normal.

Probably just thicker lube. It will probably change a bit after you run it a while.

Thanks, I bought it NOS and I came pretty well lubed, but you're probably right since this is a close to 20 yr old part I presume.
