When I click on a particular thread, I only see one post....not the entire thread as posted. I'm sure this is different from the way it's been and I'm finding it so unwieldy, I've almost stopped using the forum entirely.

Bummer. Is it me or has somthing changed?

you have to login using the ID and password...they all pop up then...

You can simply change the "display Mode" if you are not logged in... or if you log-in the forum will automatically give your opted display mode.

What's changed, at least from my perspective, is that the forum won't let you be "logged in" indefinitely like before... the maximum logged-in time without any activity seems to be timed now...I'd say maybe 3 hours or something...
