Been riding my new lightweight carbon bike so far all year. It is a sweet ride and fairly
lite at 14 1/2 pounds. Got close to 1000 miles on it this year.
Was going to do a quick 20 miler before the rain set it.
Looked at the new fangaled carbon machine then looked past it to my old steel ride.
Put some air in the tires and lubed the chain. Ready to go.
Man I almost forgot what a sweet ride this thing gives. It is a bit more relaxed but the thing
is such a sweet ride. I had it custom built back in 2002 by Joe Williams in PA.
Glad I took it out tonight. It will see alot more rides in the future.
it is 4 1/2 pounds heavier than the carbon ride but it sure does not feel like it.
I thought I would notice it on the climb but to be honest I could not feel the extra weight.

I agree - some of my bikes, although quite a bit heavier, just 'feel' lighter.

Odd.

A 14.5lb bike is very light for a bike. If a bike has a better fit to you, and is more comfortable, you'll most likely go faster.
