Right behind the house is this fantastic street. Every year for about a week (just after the Cherry Blossoms are done) the trees explode.

I've been thinking about a special photo of the Blue Love for a good year now.

I got it on the first take but since I was there with the camera........

BTW, those are cherry trees -- just a different variety than the famous ones that line the mall in DC. The trees in these photos are Kwanzan Cherries, which bloom a few weeks later than most other cherry varieties. Just thought you might like to know ... coming from a botanist of sorts.

...they can be anything they want to be.

BTW I've always regretted not knowing more about DC specific flora.

We have one street in our neighborhood that's all "regular" cherries, and one street that is full of the Kwanzan Cherries (including in front of our house). It makes for a rather long, extended period of color and blossoms!
Kwanzans are a little to showy and a lot too pink for my tastes, but it's a rite of spring. Who am I to argue!
Neat pix, MB1.

I know I am late to the party but those are some incredibly sexy shots. I feel like I need some personal time with picture No. 4
