Eh, I'm looking at residency and have decided I'll feel sorry for you if you do for me in a couple of years. Deal?

I get that all he time because we have offices in Asia. 15 hours difference can be a real pain. I don't even get overtime for it either.

eh, that wouldn't bother me much, of course I'm usually up till 12 or 1 am anyway. Anything that requires being anywhere and functioning before 10am is a PITA for me. I guess 5 years of working 2nd and occasionally 3rd shift will do that. 9a-5p? no thanks. I'll take a 3p-11p please.

//I know.... I need to find a job, and if it means working mornings I'll HTFU. I won't be happy about it for the first couple weeks though.

A 10pm meeting sucks but so does a 6:30pm meeting that lasts until 2am like I had last week.

I've not had a meeting that late in some time, but I frequently have 6:00am CT or 6:30am CT meetings. Not a morning person. That's too early for me to take down a Diet Mtn. Dew, and I don't drink coffee. The worst part is that these meetings usually require a 1-2 hour drive in advance, and with small children and a working spouse, I'd like to not stay overnight at those locations. Ugghhh...

But the job PAID well, until we got no raise this year, companywide, then our performance pay, not a bonus, was cut by 66%, and finally, Monday, we took a 7% pay cut......

Th first two cuts I could handle, but the 7% really sent me on a pissy mood for the week. There is no guarantee when or if we will recover that.

Meetings.

The time when we all come together in unified problem solving mode, just so can we talk about what we're going to be talking about at the next meeting.

The same could well be accomplished around the water cooler after lunch.

US and China, educating senior managers.
Based on the fact that Sr managers don't feel they need to be edumakated (afterall, they got to this level without your damn education), this meeting could go one of two ways:

1) You understand they do not want to be educated, just tell them "Here's what you have to do. kthksbye", or;

2) You actually try to educate them and get buy-in, and are still on the phone when the sun comes up tomorrow (and possibly the next day).

You choose. HTH.
