looks fast. once you've ridden it a bit please report on how it compares to your 88. I'm very curious. I've got an 85 and a 90 3.0 series (which I haven't yet ridden). thanks.

Looks really really nice. There's nothing like a new bike to get you out on the roads and get some more miles under your belt.

I will let you know asap

Here in Louisville, KY it seems like its going to rain for the next week and by the time it quits raining it will probably be twenty-eight degrees. I will let you know how it rides asap.

I have to get my other bike put back together. I originally said it was an '88 but I looked at an email that Cannondale sent me and they say the production date was 03/16/87. It is a Team Comp R400. The previous owner took pretty good care of it. I will post a picture of it.

Hey Friction Shifter, I saw your post for Cannondale porn. I have never noticed any of the pictures you were talking about. I will look though, and get a close up shot for you.

I took it out today...

Well, it was cold, I don't have the proper attire for the weather. Brrr.
I am also new to clipless pedals.
It is a fast bike for these slow legs. It was awesome. Smooth as silk.

I am happy to report back that it was veery pleasing. As I said, smooth. Felt good turning.
And getting used to cliping in and out.
Nice! I could not have aslked for a better experience.

Nice ride

Nice ride, I picked mine up less than three weeks ago, have only ridden in twice outside because of the weather, but love it so far. It is fast.

My last road bike was in 89 and also Cannondale, I'm going to buy my new R700 tomorrow. After research and not having any complaints about my Cannondale back then, it was an easy choice

Choice of Silver or Red is the only descision now :)

Choice of silver or red

Unfortunately Cannondale only put a picture of what the top tube looks like in their catalog and on the web. I could not find any pictures on the web of what the silver paint looked like.
The red looks nice, but is done differently that the silver. Blindly, I did choose silver, and did not know what to expect. I made the right choice for me. I hope you can see the top post of how it looks. I am pleased. Although I almost went with the red since they had that one in stock in my size.

Very Nice!

That is a good lookin' color blue. I see you went with the triple. I did too. I have alot of hills where I am at.
It may actually be warm enough for me to get a short one in this evening after work.

It came with the triple. My know it all racer friend was all over me for getting the triple, he said its a waste, lol.

I've ridden the past two days, 30-45min rides at 2:30am when I get home from work. I'll be riding around that time 3X wk and day rides on Sat/Sun. Thats the plan....I'm at home with the baby in the day, while my wife is at work, so thats may crazy riding schedule.

Riding at night is more dangerous IMO but I love it, nobody around, I've seen very few cars actually. I'm figuring out the safest routes, I should be ok

If I ride for 1yr consistant, I will upgrade to a six13/Dura Ace and have two bikes. I didnt want to spend that much out of the box and ride for 1mo and burn out, I'm sure I'll stick with it for a long time, I'm exited to be riding again.

Take Care

A waste huh?

For me, I don't agree with the less is more mantra. I specifically asked for mine to be ordered as a triple. I have only been at it for two years, I am never going to ride in the TDF. SO the half pound of weight it adds is benificial.

I think I would have burned out by now if I were not going to stick with it. The wife wants me to have a healthy hobby. So here I am with a shiny new Cannondale.
I won't be doing any late night riding.
I didn't notice any lights. Do you squeak alot and let the doppler effect of the sound waves guide you though the night, lapping up the occasional mosquito here and there? :D
Too dangerous for me.

lol I wear a safety vest, I'm like a glow worm. I'm just concerned about the drunks driving home from the bars at that time but I dont ride on main streets anyway. I should stop talking about it or I may jinx myself

I've never worn a helmet but I'm getting one this Sat for my night rides

Louis Garneau helmets have a one year crash replacement policy. I know as I
crashed one of my cdale's about two weeks ago into a dobberman pincher, doing
a TT practice run at 30 mph. The dog came out from it's yard and crossed in
front of me. I tried to out run it like I always do but this one got in front of me
and down I went. Snapped off both fork blades, bent the top and down tubes and
broke the carbon wing bars, AND right arm AND left clavical along w/lots or
road rash. My Louis Garneau "Ozzy" helmet did hit the road and broke as well
but my head was A OK. I now have a new helmet on the way to me.

I have broken three helmets in my time w/no head injury at all not even a scatch.
I've gone down so fast that my hands never came off the handle bars till I'm picking
myself up off the ground.

Please do yourself a favor and wear that helmet on your day and night rides, if
you go down one time you'll be glad you have it on!!!

I had a car make a left turn in front of me about 12 years ago. It was a Civic or similar. I went over the bars and put a big Sledge print in her hood, my helmut, and head, went along the base of the windshield, helmut grabbed both windshield wiper arms and ripped them off. Folded the fork up. I had to walk to school, then all the way home, but other than that, AOK. If you don't think helmets are worth the weight/hassle, when you need 1, you will never realize you did.
