Would a 54 cm bike be too small for me? I have a 54 cm track bike that I like, and a 57 cm road bike thats too large. Just wondered what your opinions were. Thanks!

(sorry for making a sizing thread)

I'm 5'10" with a 32 inch inseam, and 54cm is perfect for me.

Some would argue that I need a larger bike than that because I'm quite torso-y, but I also have long thighs for my (short) leg length, so I end up sitting farther back and needing a longer stem at the same time... it's a wash, weight-distribution-wise.

So 54 ends up working really well... 55 would be about my max.

It depends on how the frame is measured.... frames are measured center to center, center to top and even virtual for compact frames.....

bottom line is you could have two frames the exact same size and one manufacturer lists it as a 54cm and another might list it as a 57cm..It all depends how they measure their frames..

Center-to-top seems to be the most popular measure these days... which is a bit annoying. Center-to-center seems a bit more consistent/accurate, but I don't want to spark some sort of fierce debate about the point.
