IME the BikePA routes are o.k. but a little busy traffic wise. I think that is because the routes are fairly direct. When we ride up that way we tend to only be on BikePA routes when we are going over a gap.

Hello everyone I saw on the penndot site that there are a few routes across the state of PA. ( http://www.bikepa.com/routes/index.htm )

Anyone know where I can get more information such as specific routes, condition of roads, bike "friendliness" of the different sections, places to rest/sleep, etc.? Thanks in advance!
As I live in SE PA I see signs for some of those routes around here, and much like MB1 said, I only ride on them purely by accident. Most of the time the routes around here have far too much traffic. I generally avoid the bike pa routes. You might try some of the local bike clubs in the area you're planning to ride to see their opinion of the routes in that area. In SE PA that'd be the following that I'm aware of.

SCU - http://www.suburbancyclists.org/
CBBC - http://www.cbbikeclub.org/
Philly Bike Club - http://www.phillybikeclub.org/

And in Lancaster check out the Lancaster Bike Club - http://www.lancasterbikeclub.org/

HTH,
Eric
