My beautiful 1985 Bridgestone Carmel mixte was stolen from my driveway this weekend and I just know I'm not getting it back, it's too nice of a bike, so I'm looking for a replacement mixte. I found this one online, but I'm not sure if it's too much.

What do you think? Should I check it out? It's the right size, though I'm not too sure about a ten speed or the color. There are too many blue cruisers in Portland... but I really want another steel lugged mixte.

Thanks!

Is there a great deal of difference between a five and a ten speed? My Bridgestone was a five and I liked it, but I was thinking about going down to a three, not up to a ten. Is the riding experience very different?

I think you're in the same year, or close -- that Safari looks like an '85 to me (though if it's a 10-speed, it's probably a little older)..

It's a nice bike, and $145 is chump change in this sport. Why not?
