I have a front derailleur that is braze on but the frame is clamp on so I've used an adapter. One thing I noticed is that I didn't need to use that funky looking "washer" (Ultegra 6700 derailleur) with the adapter. The one that is very curved. Anyways, I was wondering if it's possible to use the K Edge chain catcher in this situation.

I've been using my k-edge chain catcher with my generic "problem solver" fd clamp without issues. This has been my pet peeve since I've switched frames. Although the funky textured washer you mentioned is supposed to keep the cather in place, it takes a lot of force dislodge the cather from the clamping interface.
