The Katusha Professional Cycling Team will be using the patented Lazer Aeroshell at the 2011 Ronde van Vlaanderen this weekend.

The Aeroshell is a plastic cover, designed to fit perfectly over a Lazer helmet. The Aeroshell snaps into place and protects the riders head from wind and rain while still allowing for some air movement under the front of the helmet and out the rear vents. An aerodynamic benefit is also provided by sealing off the front vents of the helmet. The Aeroshell is unique in that it is easily removed from the Lazer helmet when riding conditions are such that additional ventilation is desired.

Lazer has provided the Katusha Team with an updated graphic edition of the Aeroshell to celebrate the Ronde van Vlaanderen event. In 2010 Katusha rider Mikhail Ignatiev appreciated the aerodynamic advantage that the Aeroshell provided while he spent nearly 200 kilometers in a breakaway during the race. Look for the Katusha team and their Lazer Aeroshells at the start of the Ronde van Vlaanderen this Sunday.

The Ronde van Vlaanderen Aeroshell, as well as transparent versions of the Aeroshell, are available now from Lazer Sport. Aeroshells are available for the Lazer Tardiz, Helium, Genesis, O2 and Sphere helmets.

Lazer has been manufacturing helmets since 1919 and its products are distributed worldwide. Lazer objective has been to find an excellent synergy between safety, design, comfort and technology. The exclusive Rollsys® retention system is a perfect example and Lazer will continue to bring innovations to market in 2011 and beyond. More information can be found at
