I'd like to hear recommendations for stems that are 140mm or longer. I currently ride a Thomson X2 at 120mm on a larger frame, but I'm thinking of going to a smaller frame and getting a longer stem. I love the Thomson and would get another if they produced a longer version...but I'm open to other recommendations.

-Thanks, Todd

These are hard to find. I have 2 bikes...both with 140 stems. One is a TTT quill stem, the other is an SR threadless.

My own personal opinion on stems is that they are a metal stick (tube) that holds the handlebar. Aside from cosmetics, I can't see too much difference in any of them. I'm 6'3" & 200#. A former cat 2 racer, who's been riding for more than 40 years. I have never felt a stem flex. But hey...that's just me.
