Recessed nuts are kind of the stardard now. The other kind requires a much longer bolt, and I don't know if anybody makes them that way anymore. Presumably you need if for an older fork? If it's a steel fork it's a pretty simple task to drill out the hole so it will accept the recessed nut. It doesn't have to be enlarged much, and can generally be done with no real harm to the fork.
