4 oz's - The CAAD 7's used a new type of alloy, that is/was called Otimo. The downtube is worked to form a peak at the headtube, wereas the CAAD 5's were
oval. I am just coming off of a CAAD 5 that was replaced by a CAAD 8 under
warranty. Many have complained that the top tube was too thin on the 7's, and
thus easy to dent. Cannondale also came out with a warning, that the racing
lifespan of a 7 could be as little as two years. So far, I am loving my 8....Tim
