Ride American's version of Stage 17

Should be an exciting stage! On Aug. 16 during the Tour of Utah they've opened 300 amateur spots to ride the mountainous Stage 4 - letting the amateurs leave 4 hours before the pros' - "equivalent" (how do you REALLY compare!) but similar to riding the Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and Alpe d’Huez. 99 miles and over 14,000 feet of climbing. Spots are full but some are available on ebay. Should be "fun"!

Wow, that'll be epic for sure!

Anyone remember the showdown between Flandis/Armstrong and Kloeden/Ullrich on Croix de Fer a few years ago?

You mean the Col de la Croix-Fry right? Epic day. The Croix de Fer is essentially the Glandon with 2-3km extra and a worse decent.

I was at the top of Col de la Forclaz that day, Postal and Telekom just shredded the field by that point.....the two speed peloton was very evident.
