Here is a short video of my day riding from the New Hampshire state line to the Connecticut state line and back again. It's been an annual ride of mine for the last 11 years, and it was a great day to spend on the bike. Route 12 is in very good shape, but you do have quite a few lights to deal with in the Worcester/Auburn areas.

That's good to know. Rt. 12 between Winchendon and Fitzwilliam/Troy is okay but starts to suck pretty bad the closer to Keene you get.. I just assumed 12 though Mass was a no-go road. I'll have to check it out.

The only real bad part that I encountered was after the center of Leominster up to the new bike shop. I had to take the lane and that still made for a rough ride in some sections. But considering the length of route 12 thru the state I was very surprised at the condition. There are sections with very little breakdown lanes but that never bothers me, cars buzzing by doesn't effect my riding.
