I recently upgraded my rims to a set of Mavic Aksiums. Nice rims and far better then the original set of hoops that came on the bike. I would like to replace the bearings with full ceramic ones from BocaBearings. Their prices are pretty good. No problem doing the work myself except I can't find anywhere to download the shop manual for the rims/hubs.
Has anyone done this before. Boca lists lots of Mavicc rims on their site but no Aksium listing.

Thanks, Ekh.

Mavic bearings are usually quite good from the factory. Ceramic bearings are the next snake oil. Save your money.

You know I have to admit I have been considering that fact. I think I'll go buy some good quality shorts instead of the bearings.

yes good idea. You would be better off upgrading the whole wheel than putting ceramic bearings in an aksium. They are bombproof wheels but still at the low end of the line. Buy the shorts and ride lots....
