Cold...

It is cold....That's how it is. It is still cold (10 degrees right now) and I am tired of it bein so dang cold. All I ask for is 30 degrees and sunny for 2 weeks in a row.
That is all.

For folks that seem to relish the disgustingly cold and soggy mid-Atlantic winter, you seem to be enjoying the paradise that is central Florida. Good on ya! I'll be at Myakka River this weekend with the mountain bike and a case of sangria. Hope y'all can stay down here!

(Full disclosure: I grew up in Annapolis, Narragansett, and Newark, DE. Florida winters make me joyous!)

paddling

You better be careful. Paddling is addicting. My wife and I got kayaks last spring, and by the end of summer I was considering selling one of my Eddy Merckx' so I could buy a nicer kayak. Fortunately, I came to my senses.

What other kind of kayaks do they make? I've only ever seen plastic.

Exactly like that. Except about 90 degrees cooler and a whole lot whiter.

Fiberglass = plastic too. Wood kayaks are covered in fiberglass too, so... :)

Wood? Either strip built or glue and stitch. Then there's fiberglass, Kevlar and other composites, plus water proof fabric over frame designs. Could go traditional and just use seal skins. :)

Jealous beyond words.

Our lakes are currently mirror-smooth as well, just under 14+inches of chewed up ice and 7 inches of snow...
