Back to the (future) past ???

If this trend of bikes with larger wheels continues, soon we’ll be back to the High Wheel bicycle, perhaps.

It should not be too difficult to get used to riding one of those contraptions. In fact, the technique of “taking a header” is similar (the modern version of it was recently documented in the “Art of crashing” post). Carrying them over obstacles would present a challenge, though.

Katie absolutely dominated the short track event this past weekend on that machine. It was impressive to watch. Unfortunately she flatted the front wheel during the cross country race or she might have won that too.

If a larger wheel rolls over obstacle better, just think what you could do with this baby. Say goodbye to running over barriers, unless you loose momentum and get stuck between the barriers. Then comes the "header."
