I see more everyday. I think that traffic is a bigger factor than the price of gas. It was always expensive out here. A gallon is $4.60 on Lanai. I have co-workers who live near me on the West end of the island and I can usually beat them home by 20 or more minutes on my bike. Driving in would save about 20 minutes so it all breaks even time wise. We exist with one car that we use for shopping. My son is in kindergarten and he rides to school everyday with my wife following on her bike. I think that he has to be in third grade before he can ride by himself. It has been a record year for rain so we are now waiting on brush fires that will start popping up next month when it starts getting hot. The fires made the commute interesting a couple of times last summer. That is why I carry a camera.KendleFox said:

We got rid of the training wheels about 18 months ago. Two weeks ago I had a day off and rode to school with him. His bike was a Haro 16" BMX bike and I noticed that he was bunched up and wobbling along. He now has a Specialized Hot Rock 20" with six speeds, grip shift, and a suspension fork. They get more stuff all of the time. Currently they are renovating a hangar for their indoor displays. I hope that it is finished before I transfer next year. One issue yet to be fully addressed is the question of security and access. The museum is on Ford Island which is still a Navy base with a gate and sentry. The Missouri is on Ford Island but the tourists can buy a ticket with the tour company at the Submarine Museum that will get them onto the island and includes admission. I guess the same thing could happen for the aviation museum, but the parking is probably inadequate since the Sub, Aviaton, and Arizona would all share a parking lot.
