So I picked the frame up a year ago for cheap & have just had it sitting around wondering what to do with it. Since I got such a good deal on the frame my original thought was that I would build it into a cool rain, weather & travel bike. Turns out that I caught a bad case of cabin fever over the Winter & decided to have a little fun with it instead. After much trial & error and many, many cans of clear-coat I'm pretty pleased with the result (but I'm a strange guy). Did the bars & the superfluous decaling myself.

So is it a dream or a dud? Bike porn or bike puke? I'm digging it so I guess it doesn't matter, but I admit that I'm curious what the RBR faithful think. I should add that my goal was to have the bike completely Black & White. Past history would indicate that I like to mix crazy colors together, but this one was destined to be monochromatic. Oh yeah... I have swapped out the blue brake pads for the black ones. Figure someone would likely call me on that!

That truly is one of the most origional, and coolest looking bikes I have ever seen. The black and white graphics look really neat. You did a great job on it.

Was black the origional color of the frame?

It Started Like This....

I never really cared for the 3 stripes on the seat tube so I decided to come up with a design of my own. The wheelset is as I bought it. The bars are Deda Alanera that I picked up used on eBay. Saddle is a Fizik Aliante that I ordered from FIzik in Black & White. I'm almost thinking that I would have preferred a Black saddle with white scuff guards, but I just wanted something a little more unique than black.

cool in an 80's Black and White

New wave way. Get a white ipod and listen to the Cars while you train. Oh and some white shorts and a black jersey.

Now the question I have to ask is did you use reflective material for the decals? That would get you noticed at night.
Nice idea actually.... I wish I would have thought of that, but no it's not reflective material. Not a bike that I can see me being caught out at night on anyway though.

Wow, I'm impressed with the thought and work that you've put into your bike.

Black and white in general is one of my faves and yours is really well done. I love the way you painted the seat tube and how it matches the wheels. The bars look great and you've even got white spokes.

This is definatley a winner! You have one of the most thought out bikes I've seen.

Thumbs up,
