This is a frame I had repainted by cyclart, we think it used to be a specialized from the 1990's. At any rate, it's lugged, delicious to look at as well as ride, and with the properly budgeted bits, it has just enough retro flare that I thought ya'll would enjoy a pic (if I can get one to load).

Very. very NICE

Great color and just the right touch of retro like components to make it look very interesting. It makes me want to come up to it and take a long look. It’s enjoyable to take the time and thought to put new life and visual interest into an older frame and then have that and a great ride.
Thanks for sharing.

According to the Cyclart touch up bottle

What is the name of that color green?
It's called "abici lime green." It is really delicious looking in person, like a popcicle.

when i got the frame back from cyclart, i almost cried it was so nice. originally someone had painted the frame orange with a cream headtube, but it was shoddy work and it was chipped like crazy. i barely recognized it when i got it back.

i'm glad i went for it, because it's hard to stand out in san francisco :) don't worry, i've got a black bike too.

Take a look at classicrendevouz.com site

for a pic of a 1971 Schwinn Paramount frame in a very similar color. I had wanted that bike since one of my sister's boyfriends owned one and would ride it to the house.

Very nice! I would have never picked that color, but it turned out great!

Is it just me, or should all lugs be lined? Maybe it's just me.
There is no limit to the amount of pimping cyclart can do to a frame's paint job....but there is a limit to my bank account :) perhaps in the future sometime? luckily the wet paint outlines the lugs so well in person, I'm not too embarrassed.

whaddaya think, silver, yellow outlines?

can get hammered pretty hard if you aren't careful in the paint stages, that's for sure.

What color to line those lovely spearpoint lugs? Silver is always good. Maybe a navy blue with a fill in the fork crown to be a little different. You could do a John Deere green to stick with the green theme. I'm just throwing out ideas, here.

I've got a silver, early 80's lugged steel Fiorelli with yellow decals in my garage waiting to be painted. I prepped the frame at least 10 weeks ago, but I can't decide what color to paint it, so there it sits. I was thinking of leaving it silver metallic, but making the head and seattube kind of a muted yellow with black lug outlines. Maybe I'm going crazy, but that might look OK.

Now I see your bike and I think maybe I ought to go with blaze orange or lime green or robin's egg blue or camo just to have something different. I've already got two silver bikes.

Another color option...

The other day this guy blazed past me on a carbon fiber frame (ew!) and just as I was feeling superior for having a different color bike than nude carbon or plain ol' black, I saw the sunlight glimmer off his frame...it was deep black, shiny and wet looking, with a million rainbows of glitter in it.

Where can one procure such a paint job? It reminded me of a national geographic special showing those rad glowing fish deep in the ocean. Or the pictures of "the galaxy" as viewed from the front end of the starship enterprise.

Man the world is so much more beautiful when it's sunny outside. :)

Whatever you do, don't forget the pics!
