What's wrong with that ?
.
It's better than washing your bike in the kitchen, isn't it ? All the dirt stays in the tub.
Just wait until she leaves for an hour or two.

She'll get over it

Mine (wife, that is) wasn't exactly thrilled when she came home to find me with the Merckx torn apart in the kitchen. I explained, the sink makes a great parts washing tub and dish soap, in addition to being a great grease cutter, is oh so gentle on my hands.

I do that all the time,

but then again, I'm not married any more either.

Here's your argument for it. I'll bet that the tub is cleaner after you do your wash then it was before. Tell her she doesn't need to clean the stall/tub after you wash because you've just done it.

That's nothing

But I had to clean up the bike, and it's f-f-f-freezin' outside!
After my first race of the season (wet and muddy road race), I took 4th place and my GF was at the finish line cheering me on as I took the bunch sprint. After, we went back to the hotel room where I took a shower with my bike.
