I set out a goal this May, National Bike Month: 400 miles of commuting, which I achieved this morning on my ride in thank you.

See, i have an approximate 21 mile return commute. 4 weeks + 21 miles/day = 420miles. This leaves me with a buffer of I whole day to account for weather or mechanicals or whatever.

So of course I get sick and miss 2 days of riding mid month. My only option is to add some mileage to my commute and buffer up my miles to meet my goal. So I threw in a around 3 extra miles by jumping down towards the bike path from nowhere to nowhere. It starts at the Air Force base at the edge of that part of town and goes to our desolate unused downtown area so it is used by approximately homeless people and the few commuters that it is convenient to.

Anyway by adding in the extra mileage I was able to make up my majority of lost days of riding and I thought I would snap a few pictures for you all to appreciate.

The speed limit on the bike path is ridiculous but I do my best to try to maintain it:

Where once i needed to cross through some sketchy street crossing action there is now a nice bike/pedestrian "native american basket" bridge.

Tucson's "famous" rattlesnake bridge (at the tail there is a sensor that plays a rattle when you pass (sometimes), scared the crap out of me the first time I heard it):
