Need help, bearing issue 2010 Supersix 2

I am in need of some technical advice.

I have a 2010 Supersix 2 with Sram Red Components. The original BB30 bearing had about 1500 miles on them when they started to whine under stress (hard pedaling) and offering too much resistance. I ordered new bearings from Enduro and the bearing tool. I put the new bearings in, it went really smooth, the tool is great. The literature about the Sram Red crank on the SRAM site shows spaces on either side of the crank. When I took my crank off there were no spacers, just the wave washer, a bearing cover on either side and a super thin clear plastic (very flexible almost like wrapping) shim on each side. I put it all back together and it worked great for about 300 miles. Now the bearings appear to be shot again. The noise and resistance are back. I re-torqued the crank to no avail.

When I put pressure on the crank, especially on the chain ring side I can actually see the chain ring flex. Is this normal. Or, am I lacking spacers which is causing it to not spin round correctly and ruining the bearings?. The crank does not appear loose when you push on it, but when you push hard with your foot you can see the flex.

Any help is appreciated. If I need spacers where can I order them. I like to do my own work. do I need new bearings too?

Thank you.

I took the crank apart and the bearings seem to spin smoothly, but I did notice that the wave washer is being fully flattened. I suppose this would indicate the need for spacers so I will try to order some from the LBS to see if this corrects the problem before going to the expense of replacing the bearings again.

Am I on the right track?
