We bought my wife a Felt ZW100 to get her started in cycling. She has some weakness in her left hand due to an injury so I am looking to upgrade at least her shifters to make shifting easier for her. Looking at some 105 10 speed shifters on eBay (new takeoffs).

So I am thinking about changing her crankset from a triple to a compact double at the same time. The question is, can I change out her current 8-speed cassette to a 10 speed? Is there room between the stays for this, or is a 10 speed cassette no wider than the 8 speed?

Thanks,

Mike

8,9,10,11 width is all the same. Whether the cassette splines match the freehub is a detail associated with the specific hub.
