With a few personal exceptions, I've found this list on the Civia website gives a pretty good starting point for what to wear in what conditions.
Make sure you have some well-ventilated glasses. Cruising along a country road, you probably won't have any problems. But when you roll up to a stop light and are sitting for a bit, they tend to fog up real quick, so the faster they clear once you get moving again, the better.
20s to 40s is easy. It'll take a couple rides to figure out what's too much or too little clothing.
