New from northern-California based veloToze are shoe covers made from flexible, lightweight material that's claimed to be waterproof, windproof and aerodynamic. The new shoe covers come in short and tall models, and a variety of colors and sizes. They can also be customized for your team or event. Cost is $12 for the short covers, $15 for the tall. The main hook is what veloToze is trumpeting as a patented design that eliminates zippers or velcro. The covers are also claimed to be light and compact enough to fold up to the size of a spare tube, allowing them to fit in a jersey pocket or saddle bag.
The company was founded by a group of cyclists in Sonoma County, California that wanted to ride regardless of the weather, but found shortcomings with the current crop of shoe covers. We've ordered up a test pair and will let you know how well they work asap. In the meantime, check out the video below to see how they go on and off your feet, and visit veloToze.com for more info.
