Well I was finally able to talk the wife into getting a road bike. She tried several (Trek, Specialized Dolce Elite) but settled on a Felt ZW95. It fits her very well, and the LBS gave us 10% off all accessories. We went with MT Bike shoes and clips/straps for now until she gets comfortable, then we will upgrade to road shoes.
If she decides she likes it, then maybe we will upgrade the component group in a year or two, and if she isn't a fan we sell the bike at the end of the season.
