The new Soma Smoothie frame is now available. It is now made from Tange Prestige tubing instead of Reynolds 853. I don't know much about Tange Prestige. The bike looks pretty nice though. The new green and blue colors look great. This looks like a good value in a steel frame for 375 bucks.

I think these used to be made from 631, not 853. And that was just the main triangle. Minor details... but you're right they are great values.

Sorry, you are not correct.... The Smoothie used to be made from 853 (main triangle). The Smoothie ES was 632. Check the Soma web site. They still show the 853 Smoothie.

They look very simlar and the geometry chart is identical, Hmmm?
They're both long in the top tube. My 58cm Double Cross has a 59 tt...

you could just pick up a Surly Pacer fork (or maybe a Kelly if you got a deal on it) and call it good. Or a Waterford fork if you wanted to suddenly make the frame not so cheap.
