There are applications for industrial chains where you either can't lubricate because of proximity to food products, or because the chain is submerged in sewage in water treatment plants.....None of this would work with bike chains because our chains do not have bushings. The chain rollers ride on crimped sections of the inner plates. All bike chains have been made this way when they came out with narrow seven speed chains.
