It's nice, but I don't know the first thing about track. Call it the Ohio effect.

The dude is scary. He's only been on the track 2 years, he's 19 and everyone close to him insists he's nowhere near his potential. I don't know if he's gonna eventually be a GT guy, but he should dominate something.

I've been watching lots of the old coors classics while doing some indoor work. Funny to see mini-phinney in some of the shots as a 2yo. I wouldn't have known what to look for if I didn't hear he was riding with Lance(tm) these days.

What's his mom look like these days? ETA: Hey, it's in the article.

He's all over Twitter too

He's a hoot. If you "tweet" follow him at @taylorphinney

He's just a riot, he posted a picture of hisself, in his WC jersey with the gold around his neck sportin' a "Doper's Suck" cycing cap.

Really. Check him out.

Kid is always good for a laugh. Did 3-4 rides with him at team camp this year and it certainly doesn't suck to have him around on long windy stretches of road....

strong! Awesome to see him win gold. I remember racing his dad and telling him it was an honor to ride with him. LOL.

Go Phinneys

This is actually his 2nd World Championship. He took gold in the U23 TT as well a year or two ago.

How do track guys usually fare in the pro ranks? Do they end up being good TT specialists? Sprinters?
Both. Or neither. It just depends.

Cavendish is a track rider turned roadie, and he has a decent sprint

Chris Boardman turned out some good time trails back in the day.

While we bring up Boardman we may as well bring up Graeme Obree; it's my understanding that he was a pretty good TTer.

I'm not sure how Wiggins has been doing but Ive heard tales of him doing well.
