I've been watching the TDF and I've noticed that the Team Gerolsteiner Specialized bikes don't have the Zertz inserts. I don't know what particular model they are riding, but I thought that pretty much all Specialized road bikes used Zertz. I would think that with the amount of miles that they are doing that would prefer to have it.

Frame weights and minimum weight limits

The frames that Team Gerolsteiner uses the S-Works Tarmac SL doesn't not have the zertz inserts because it adds unnecessary weight to the frame. The zertz doesn't compromise the strenght of the frame.
How much extra weight do the zertz add to the frame? With the wide use of ultra-light frames, forks and components, there are some bikes that need extra weghts added to the bike to meet the minimum weight limit. The S-Works Tarmac SL is at or over the weight limit without the zertz inserts?
