I'm using Shimano aero levers and mid-reach calipers. The calipers are new. I lubed the cables and housing and the points of movement in the levers. You can see the housing for the rear cable move when the lever is pulled. The braking feels notchy as more pressure is applied. Any idea what this could be caused by? Thanks.

.) Pics would help. The rear brake housing moves how?

.) Maybe housing too short, causing cable to bind.

.) Maybe housing ends poorly finished (nothing personal if this is a DIY cabling) - trimmed clean, ground/filed flush, clean hole in liner for cable to pass thru.

.) Maybe mixing old/new cables and housing introduced new kinks into the system where before there were none?
