How are the calorie, fat, protein, vitamin, etc. amounts in a food item determined for the Nutrition Facts label? Does someone drop a Snickers bar into a food lab analyzer and see what comes out, or do they calculate the Nutrition Facts from the ingredients that go into the food? Thanks.

Answer 2.

How they get the numbers for the ingredients? Answer 1, though it's safe to assume that it's a tiny bit more complicated than that.
