Oh El Pato,
How I love thee
Thou art tasty
I love to put half of you in a can of black beans
Then use the other half to either pour on top of my food
Or to, perhaps, dip my bread in
I love you.

Is that salsa over rice? You know you can use salsa as the cooking liquid, and have a sort of tomatoey red Mexican rice.

Salsa!

Not just for riding any more.

It's more of a sauce than it is a salsa. Not great for dipping, but great for drenching.

I do that with my beans all the time (black beans, curry, pepper, olive oil, carlic. mmmmm), and I do it when I make rice on the stove, but that particular rice was (gasp) minute rice that gets microwaved.

I just learned that trick last summer. I'm proud as hell of it. Best trick of the past 5 years for me, easy.

El Pato is great stuff. I will have to pick some up next time I hit the market.
