I picked up a mid-'90s T400 a few weeks back and was hoping to upgrade it to an 8 or 9 speed with STI, etc. However, it has Sovos hubs, which I've never seen outside of their much-maligned cheap track hubs- not exactly confidence inspiring, but I figure I'll wait and see if this hub holds up. Problem is, while it has a Hyperglide-compatible freehub body, I'm not sure if the retaining bolt is threaded the normal Shimano way- removed with a 10mm hex from the drive side- or like Mavic freehubs, which use a 10mm hex inserted all the way through the hub shell from the non-drive side. Anybody have any experience with these hubs?
