I just got a used set of campy record wheels and was trying to put a 11-23 cassette on and the lock ring would not thread in. So, I'm guessing that the hubs are circa 1999 or older and maybe take the older style lock rings that apparently have a different thread pitch. This is a pain. I found an older 12-25 lock ring and put it on for now and I'll be able to use the cassette but not the 11. Any thoughts on how to find an older 11-23 cassette lock ring that will work. Why does campy do this stuff?

the reason...

Bike parts can't always stay the same. The lockring thread diameter increased from 26mm to 27mm, with the same 1mm pitch, in 1999 when the oversize aluminum axle design was introduced. It hasn't changed since, which means you have the old 10mm steel axled hubs. Here's a link to what you need. I thought I had one, but it's also a 12-13T model.
