If you own these rims, what can you tell me about the weld seam on these? Are they machined smooth?
I have some Velocity A23's and they're very rough (about 1/8" ridge).
Since these wheels will be getting rebuilt by the builder, I'm considering these or the Pacenti SL23. I've heard a lot of good things about the Pacenti, but not much at all about the H Plus Sons.

Yes they are.

The seams on Archetypes are very smooth. No problems with Kool-Stop or Yokozuna pads.

I think there's a version of the Archetype that is 'high polish', i.e. maybe not anodized?

Could be wrong, though... is it possible to be high polish/mirror finish *and* anodized?

You are correct, and those would be my choice. However, they don't come in a 24H configuration - I'm running 24/28. On top of that, the builder who is doing this for a warranty doesn't carry the high polish one. I'd love those on my all black bike!

You may then need to find some NOS C2. The new ones have the anodizing on the brake tracks as well.

There's really no negative to the anodizing that I can tell. Even if you dont like the looks just wait and it wears off and looks like any other black rim with silver brake track.
