Has anyone ever bought stainless steel fenders and sent them to a frame builder to have them painted to match their frame? Would Berthoud stainless steel fenders work for this?

The new Vanilla bike that I'll be receiving in a couple weeks will have aluminum Honsho fenders that painted to match. Sacha at Vanilla has lots of metal fenders painted.
