I know I should probably go to the store to try them on before I buy online but how true to the size chart do you find Pearl Izumi shorts/tights? Fit a bit bigger/smaller/just right? Do they shrink when washed? This is their sizing chart for reference...

Also, any particular style recommendations for PI shorts/tights?

Thanks in advance!

you are correct

go try them on
i wear medium shorts in PI, large in most italian/european brands
i wear 32 inch waist levis.
as for which model, you pay for the high end stuff and it is not always more comfy.
i like the 3d pro chamois, but many don't
if i could afford it i'd go assos--i have their airblock tights for winter and they are awesome.
i don't even think the attack, heliarc, and microsensor feel the same on me in medium (these are all pearl izumi) so you really should try them on.

Standard fit

Remember, these things are made of Lycra, and so are very stretchy. IME, I wear the same size in PI, Louis Garneau, Performance, and Nashbar, to list a few.
